Vintage Hand Carved - Pintail - by William Weidemann Sr. (The Bird Man of St. Peters Village), 1980.
This Decoy measures about 13" long from the tip of its Beak to the end of its tail. My wife would order these hand carved waterfowls for me each year for our Anniversary. Bill Weidemann of Paoli, PA had one of the small shops located in the St. Peters Village, St. Peters, PA (see photo of actual building still there, but naturally a different business occupies it now). My wife would place an order 8-10 months ahead of our Anniversary in order to have it by our Anniversary. For years she would do this. We displayed them on deep windowsills and on large pieces of furniture. I'm listing them as "Used", However they are in "Like New - as Carved" condition.
However: From repeated dusting through the years, I see where some of the paint on top tip of the Tail Feathers have some minor paint chips from 40 years of moving around, cleaning, dusting, etc. Study the close-up photo of the Tail carefully!
They were only dusted with "Swiffer" type dusters when they came on the market. We enjoyed these Decoys all these years and now we're in our late 70's and need to downsize and sell off our collectables.
