Upper Chesapeake Bay Canvasback Drake Decoy, circa 1950's.

Description

Here we have a very nice bird; a Canvasback duck hunting decoy, from the Upper Bay of the Chesapeake, Maryland, a Havre de Grace school of duck.  It is a working decoy; solid wood, with painted eyes, now mostly washed off, with all original hardware below.
The bird is in good working condition, with rubs and scuffs to paint, a crack in the neck, rust etc, and a patina appropriate to its hard working life and age.  A beautiful piece of sculpture from the Eastern Shore Region.  See photos for the full picture.
