White Pine designating finish nail just off the black/white paint transition at the tail on the underside.
This Bull was rigged for the water, but not used as such. The rigging points to the 50's, and his "working decoys".
The decoy has been exceptionally well shelf kept, with a very few minor dents/dings on the body, and  very few minor paint scuffs. No typical neck cracks usually found on Mitchell's older decoys. The paint is all original and in exceptional condition. In all honesty this is about the most perfect, circa 50's Mitchell Tack Butt decoy I have ever seen. I collect his Tack Butt decoys exclusively, but I prefer decoys that had "water time", so this Tack Butt and another "no spread time" Canvasback (Drake with tack) I have just do not fit in my collection. That one will be listed in the future.

As with all decoys I ship, this bird will be insured, and packed to withstand a nuclear blast.
