Condition: Early Goldeneye Hen carved and painted by Martin D. Collins. Gold eyes. Brass plaque shows his location as E. Wareham MA. Decoy is branded with his logo. Pegged head. Inset round lead weight. Clip and line set at bottom front. Evidence of wear and age, but the decoy is structurally sound with no cracks or shrinkage. Prior price tag for 5.
Martin D. Collins primarily works with American Linden (also known as basswood) and white pine for his exquisite duck decoys. Occasionally, he incorporates cedar into some of his pieces.
