We got this Vintage Peep Shorebird Decoy attributed to Will E Kirkpatrick of Hudson, MA during a recent Long Island Auction. It was one in a lot of four decoys.The auction catalogue =
Auction Catalogue = "One of a set of four artfully made wooden bird figurines with stands. The figures are very neatly painted. Three of the four figures are marked on the bottom: WEK 83 and have the tag from the MACKEY COLLECTION."

Decoy. This carving was Hand Crafted about 40 years ago.
This decoy has a Solid Body in good structural condition with a Very Nicely Rounded Form. The Flat Back softly drops to a distinctive Flat Paddle Tail.
This shorebird has a Rounded Bottom with a Nice Upsweep to the end of the Tail. It also has a Thick Dry Original Paint Pattern that employs Numerous Dainty Brush Stokes resulting in a Very
Pretty Patina
. The body also has a hole in the back near the tail for stringing.
The Nicely Carved Contented Head Looks Forward. Head is in very good structural condition with Nicely Carved Face/Beak Separation. This decoy has painted eyes.
This shorebird comes with a cedar stand and when mounted is about 8 Inches Long - Height is about 7 1/2 Inches - Width is about 4 Inches - Total Weight is just under 8 Ounces.
